Hello, world — again
Why I rebuilt my portfolio from scratch, what's hiding in it, and what I'll be writing about here.
Every developer’s first portfolio is a rite of passage. Mine was a few HTML pages, a CSS file and a “Download CV” button. It did its job — but it didn’t say much about how I like to build things.
So I started again.
What’s new
- A portrait made of particles. The home page draws me out of a few thousand dots. Move your cursor through them, click to send a shockwave, or just scroll and watch it dissolve.
- A command menu. Press ⌘K (or Ctrl K, or just /) anywhere to jump to any page, project or post.
- A real blog. You’re reading it. Posts are plain Markdown files, so writing one is as easy as opening a text editor.
Good software should feel effortless to use — even when it wasn’t effortless to build.
What I’ll write about
Things I’m learning as a software engineer at Innovation Quotient and a final-year Computer Science student at IIT:
- Lessons from building production systems with .NET Core, React, Next.js and Azure
- Clean architecture, domain-driven design and what they look like in real code
- Machine learning and explainable AI — including progress on HelioGuard, my solar-flare forecasting research
- Project breakdowns — what worked, what didn’t, what I’d do differently
Psst
There are a couple of easter eggs hidden around the site. Try the command menu and type hire. Or, if you grew up with a game controller, you might know a certain code…
Thanks for reading. More soon.
